WHAT IS BOX LUNCH?

Box Lunch is one of CASA El Dorado’s largest outreach and fundraising events each year. For 30 years, this community-driven event has brought people together to share a meal while standing up for children in foster care. Working with local partners and volunteers, CASA El Dorado prepares and delivers more than 3,000 pre-ordered lunches annually to schools, businesses, and individuals throughout El Dorado County.

All funds raised through Box Lunch directly support the recruitment, training, and ongoing supervision of Court Appointed Special Advocates. In El Dorado County, approximately 1 in every 145 children is in foster care. CASA El Dorado serves more than 90% of these children—220 youth last year alone—providing consistent, one-on-one advocacy for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and ensuring their voices are heard when it matters most.
