 How We Make a Difference

CASA El Dorado is committed to providing critical support, empowerment, and a voice for the abused, neglected, and at-risk youth in our community. Your generous support of this event demonstrates your belief that every child deserves the opportunity to build a bright tomorrow, free from the cycles of trauma and uncertainty.

Our Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs) work directly with children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect, juvenile justice-involved youth, and families at risk of losing their children. CASAs build strong, trusting relationships with their “CASA kids,” spending time with them, gathering key information about their lives, and providing vital insight to the court. This information helps judges make more informed decisions about what services and support are in the child’s best interest. These decisions can alter the trajectory of a child’s life, offering a chance for a better, brighter future.

The impact of a CASA’s involvement can extend well beyond childhood. In fact, research shows the following outcomes when a CASA advocate is involved in the life of a foster child:

  • Increased Access to Services: Foster children with a CASA advocate are more likely to receive the necessary services to heal from abuse or neglect.

  • Shorter Time in Foster Care: Children with a CASA advocate are 50% less likely to remain in long-term foster care.

  • Reduced Recidivism: Children who exit the child welfare system with the support of a CASA advocate are 50% less likely to reenter the system.

Your support ensures that more children in our community receive the services, advocacy, and opportunities they need to overcome their pasts and build brighter tomorrows. Thank you for standing with us and helping to make a difference in the lives of our most vulnerable children.
